How to Anchor.

Due to extensive travel I have not been able to complete my presentation characterizing the wind on Lake Nockamixon.  I feel that this presentation is too important to do a rush job so I have decided to move back the presentation on “The wind on Lake Nockamixon” to August 28 and move up the presentation on “How to Anchor” to this Saturday.  My presentation on anchoring will cover what is required to safely anchor on Lake Nockamixon.  This includes consideration of proper scope, room to swing, anchor types, how anchors work, how to deploy an anchor, how to recover an anchor, how to deal with a fouled anchor, where to anchor, and hand signals to use while anchoring.  Please plan to attend this presentation on anchoring and improve your anchoring skills.  This “Sail & Learn” will take place at 4:30 PM in the trailer parking lot either under the club tent or at the picnic tables.  There will be some social time after the presentation.  Please join us and bring your own drinks and finger foods to share.  I hope to see you all there.

Happy sailing,

Mike Brown
