Knot Tying training

Training went well.  Have you read the material?  Have you tried doing some knots?  Give it a whirl, give the line a twist or two.  Question - can you tie a bowline and before collapsing or capsizing the knot change the bowline size to match the use?  Maybe a quiz will be issued when we see you next.

KEEP TYING YOUR KNOTS!!  Do you keep a short piece of line around your waist to practice, someone does.

This is to announce that this Saturday May 22ndat 4:30 PM there will be a Sail & Learn on Knot Tying.  Please come to this important training and learn or refresh your knowledge of knot tying.  Craig Tourtellott and Dave Stader will teach knot tying including the following knots:

Bowline                                                                       Cleat hitch

Round turn and two half hitches                                 Square knot

Stopper knots                                                              Sheet bend

Rolling hitch                                                                Clove hitch

Truckers hitch                                                             Gasket coil (Use??)

There will also be a discussion of how to whip a line and other useful information.  If you are interested in attending this week’s “Sail & Learn” program on knot tying please meet up with Craig and Dave under the club tent in the trailer parking lot at 4:30 PM.  There will be a social gathering after the presentation so please bring your own drinks and finger food to share.
