Man Overboard training.

This Sail & Learn will take place in the trailer parking lot under the club tent.  Please attend this presentation which will include the quick turn and figure eight man overboard techniques.  Man overboard training is a vital and fun part of sailing.  It is recommended that everyone not only get familiar with these procedures but that they be practiced on a routine basis so if there is an incident that everyone will know what to do.  Practicing man overboard drills is actually a fun thing to do on the water.  Please remember to bring a drink and finger foods to share at this informative and social event.

This is also to announce that there will be a Memorial Day Parade at 12:00 noon on Monday 31 May.  Please join us as we celebrate Memorial Day by decorating our sailboats with flags and we wear red white and blue and motor to the fishing pier and back.  It is fun to see all the decorated boats and wave at the onlookers on shore.  This is a great opportunity to take pictures and get the family and friends involved.  After the parade and we have put our boats away, everyone is invited to meet up at my sailboat in I-19 for some free cake.  I would guess that this will probably be around 1:15-1:30 PM.  You may want to bring a chair to sit on the dock near my boat since space is limited.

I look forward to seeing you all at the Sail & Learn on Man Overboard procedures and the Memorial Day parade.

Happy sailing,

Mike Brown
