Saturday!! July 16, 2011 - Water Cannon Fun Race, Intro to Celestial Navigation and Full Moon Sa

This Saturday July 16 at 2:00 pm we will meet at the no wake buoys to receive our instructions from the race committee boat. RC Craig Tourtellott will let us know what which marks we will be using for our Water Cannon Fun Race. Turn your VHF radios on to channel 69 to await our instructions from Craig Tourtellott from the RC committee boat or follow my Precision 18 -Y´Sail La Vie!¡  So grab your water cannons, super soakers, squirt guns, buckets, etc, close up the hatches, leave a towel and a change of clothes in your car, and come out and cool off with us! The racers will be loading their water cannons and joining us for some water fun as they wrap up their final race of the day! Rules of the Road and lots of wet fun apply!!!
 
After everyone has dried off, join us at the park's Environmental Education Center for Mike Brown’s Sail & Learn presentation:  Intro to Celestial Navigation presentation this Saturday at 4:30 pm. If you are interested in learning what Celestial Navigation is about and how a sextant is used, please stop by. Feel free to bring your own sextant to the presentation. Bring a cold bottle of water and a snack to share. To get to the Ed Center, enter the park at the marina entrance on Harrisburg School Rd , and take it to the stop sign. Then turn right and park in lot 12. Then walk through the woods on the path to the Education Center .
 
Did you see the full moon tonight, it’s beautiful. If you never experienced sailing under the Full Moon, then join our Raft Up Captain Bill Pfanstiel this Saturday night around 6:00-6:30 pm at the no-wake buoys. Pack yourself a sandwich, your favorite summer cold drink, dessert or snack to share and join us for a dinner raft up at ComPac Cove, left of the marina.  After our dinner raft, we will pull up our anchors, release our lines, raise our sails and enjoy a relaxing sail under the big full moon!
