WINTER EVENT - Morning Light, the movie

In the hope of inspiring sailing to members and friends of the Nockamixon Sail Club; the Club has booked the Sellersville Theater for a free showing of the 2008 Disney movie Morning Light.

On  Saturday January 23, 2010 you, your family and friends, are invited to revel in the cinema graphic excellence of the Roy E. Disney documentary detailing the voyage of the sailboat Morning Light and the infectious enthusiasm of her young crew in the 2007 TransPac race. It is the story of 15 young sailors who dared to attempt the TransPac - a 2,300 mile endurance race from California to Hawaii against the most experienced sailors in the world. The movie will start promptly at 12 noon.  The doors will open at 11:30 and close at 3pm. 

We are thrilled to announce that Jesse Fielding from the crew of Morning Light will join us at our NSC Mid-Winter Event on January 23rd! Jesse has been very kind in offering to spend time with us to share his experience in completing the race and making the movie. He will be stopping by the Sellersville Theater on his way home from Key West Race Week.  Please bring your copies of the Morning Light video or book (What the Sea Teaches Us) for Jesse to autograph. 

Entry is free, but "Popping” Paul Prozzillo, our Vice Commodore will be selling hot buttered popcorn for a small donation to be used to defray the theater costs.  This will be a great event for younger participants and we hope everyone that is available to attend, do so.   The movie is about an hour and a half long and the theater is licensed to sell a full range of beverages.

The purpose of the sign-up is to give us an idea of how many people will be attending and to give us an email address in the event of a weather cancellation. You do not have to be a registered member of this website or Nockamixon Sail Club to sign-up for the event. So feel free to give us email addresses for as many of the attendees as you would like to provide. It will give us a better idea of attendance and allow for individual cancellation notices in the event of bad winter weather conditions.
